Sicily Nature Adventures is the brain child of Carlo,
which is a licenced historical tour guide and nature guide. He was born and raised in Sicily, but lived for 8 years in the UK where he co- founded and directed an educational conservation charity. Carlo's mother has been tour guide for 25 years and his father an art history and sculpture Professor. The combination of skills and passion Carlo gained from his parents as well as his own interests, experience and exceptional English has given him the foundation to become one of the best guides that Sicily can offer.
Since childhood Carlo has been raised emersed in the history, art, traditions and tours of Sicily, his own passion for nature and natural history has also given him a background in Nature Conservation.
As director of the conservation charity, Carlo's communcation skills and his contagious passion that he tranmits during his talks on the subjects that he loves, granted him the responsibility to be the spokes person in charge to promoting the objectives of the Charity. This position gave Carlo the opportunity to travel and take his talks to conferences all around the World from India, to the Galapagos Islands, USA and many other countries.
Carlo gained lots of awards and one his education projects was selected by the UK's Royal Society to exhibit at their 350th year anniversary in London. Carlo was selected as the best UK Social Entrepreneur in 2012 , and in the year 2014 he was invited by Queen Elizabeth the Queen of England to a Garden Party at Buckingham Palace.
In 2013 Carlo and his wife, decided to move back to Sicily, buy a derilict farm to convert into a sustainable, off grid, Nature study and wild retreat center. He now lives there with his wife and 2 small children, growing all the food necessary for the family and milling their own flour for all their own pasta and bread making.
Carlo is an avid collector of Sicilian farming traditions and his love for nature, food and wine, means that he spend most of his free time researching the best restaurants, growers and winemakers of Sicily and exploring Sicily's hidden gems.
Over the last five years Carlo has gained an incredible reputation in the tourist sector, thanks to his exstensive knowledge not only in history and Sicilian culture but of diverse and stunning natural habitats that contribute to make Sicily the 3rd most visited island in the world.
Carlo today, works for bespoke private tours but also for the most renowned luxury tour operators and VIP travel agencies.
